My work has focused around the use of crows and ravens in mythology and pop-culture as messengers for the gods and as animals that are often viewed as a symbolic omen of death. I used the imagery of these birds as a metaphor for the current trend of limiting freedom of information and communication encryption in social media. Often in the mythological stories these birds are described as white in colour until they give negative information to their owners and are scorched black as punishment. I have used candle soot, spray paint and stencils in many of my pieces to represent the birds being burned. I have also focused on tight line work and printmaking, often working digitally at first then physically printing the works myself.
