Francis Boag D.A M.A
Style Guide: Still Life and Landscape
Trained Duncun of Jordanstone
He tries to evoke in the viewer a sense of pleasure of a remembered day so you can actually imagine yourself in the painting.
Using scrubby old brushes his style has been pared down and simplified and the emphasis on skill has been replaced by what he considers the more important elements of shape, colour, form and texture.
His luminous and inviting work has a feeling of spontaneity between the content of the work and the gestures and brush marks themselves. Francis exhibits all over Scotland and the U.K..
