Born in Glasgow in 1991, Sian recently graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design where she gained a BA (Hons) degree in Fine Art. Heavily inspired by film, music and a keen interest in body language, it is her aim to capture the beauty and vulnerability of the ephemeral, using oil paint to portray the intimate nature of the figure.

Last year, shortly after graduating she was chosen as one of the 72 selected from 1600 to participate in the televised competition ‘Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year 2014.’ Sian has been working hard to develop and ‘loosen’ her style ever since by putting into practice some tips and help given to her by the winner of the competition, Christian Hook, and undertaking a workshop in New York with Brooklyn based portrait painter, Alyssa Monks, in January.
