Margaret Ballantyne, is one Scotland’s most sough-after contemporary Colourists.
Now in her late eighties, she attended The Glasgow School Art and has exhibited regularly across the UK. Margaret works in oil and mixed media. She is best known for her highly expressive, joyful and colourful landscapes and still lives.
The Glasgow-born and bred artist has exhibited regularly with the Royal Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts, the Royal Scottish Academy and in the Royal Academy summer exhibitions. Her work is sought after by both private (including the Kuwaiti Royal family) and corporate buyers.
In a four-decade long career, Margaret has had various acclaimed solo and mixed exhibitions throughout the UK. For several years, the National Trust for Scotland used one of her paintings for their Christmas card.
